Baywater Farms Rainbow Carrots
Rainbow heirloom carrots are stunning in color, packed with nutrients, and much more exciting than the plain carrots at the supermarket. Our non-GMO rainbow carrots are orange, white, red, purple, and yellow and offer the same subtle sweetness of traditional fresh carrots. We plant over a million rainbow carrot seeds every year, and each color is a perfect addition to your table.
What We Offer
Baywater Farms non-GMO rainbow carrots are harvested until the ground freezes and the growth season ends. We offer our rainbow carrots in 24 count bunches that are a beautiful mix of each shade and flavor. Since our rainbow carrots are produced using heirloom seeds, they come in a variety of shapes and sizes that are a fun surprise every time we pull one out from the soil.
Take A Bite
Much of the rainbow carrot’s charm comes from its beautiful and unique color. It works best when used in dishes that showcase the beautiful hues, like tossed in olive oil and seasoned with freshly cracked pepper and salt and roasted. Roasting with herbs or honey allows the mellow and sweet flavor of the rainbow carrot to emerge even more. You can even use grated rainbow carrots in baking, like delectable carrot cake, instead of traditional orange carrots.
Our rainbow carrots are harvested when ripe and crisp. Baywater rainbow carrots are harvested after 75 days and packed immediately after harvest to be sent to your door.
Our heirloom rainbow carrots can be stored the same way that you store traditional orange carrots. If you don’t use your rainbow carrots immediately, they can be stored clean, with the green tops removed, in your refrigerator for 2-4 weeks. Never store your rainbow carrots near apples or pears, as they emit a gas that makes carrots bitter as they decay. If you want to enjoy your heirloom rainbow carrots for a longer period of time, you can can, blanche and freeze, or pickle them.
Baywater grows shoulder season crops to get the most deliciousness out of every growing season that we can. Our shoulder season crops include rainbow carrots, field lettuces, radish mix, fall squash, and sweet potatoes. All of our non-GMO produce is grown using heirloom seeds and sustainable farming methods so that you feel good about what you eat and what you serve. The fruits of our labor aren’t just delicious, they’re locally grown with a conscience.
