Our Heirloom Farm
Baywater Farms is passionate about cultivating non-GMO, heirloom produce with love and care in the same soil that our great-grandparents tilled. On our sixth-generation family farm, all of our heirloom produce is grown using high-quality seeds that yield gorgeous, colorful, and delicious results. We use ecologically-friendly farming methods and are dedicated to preserving the provenance of our seeds, re-introducing historical crops, and supplying everyone in the area with locally grown produce with a conscience. From the star of the show, our sumptuous heirloom beefsteak tomatoes, to our pride and joy, Maryland’s own fish peppers, your eyes will be just as satisfied as your appetite.
Heirloom, non-GMO farming is all about giving back to the earth as much as we are taking from it and enjoying fresh locally grown produce the way it was meant to be enjoyed. Our hands till the soil and sow the seeds, our plants are cared for with labeled pesticides or chemicals, and you get to enjoy the wholesome natural result. As an heirloom produce farm growing, we are devoted to:

Our Heirloom Produce
Heirloom beefsteak tomatoes are one of the most delectable things the warm summer sun can produce. This tomato variety is grown for its phenomenal flavor and impressive size. Their meaty texture makes them perfect for ripe tomato sandwiches or served sliced on their own.
Heirloom cherry tomatoes offer the same beautiful sweetness of heirloom beefsteak tomatoes in the same impressive color palette, but in a small package. Heirloom cherry tomatoes are ideal for serving in salads of all types and paired with our fresh hydroponic herbs.
Shishito peppers are delightful Asian peppers that are typically sweet, but one in every ten is spicy. These popular, small peppers are picked when green and can be grilled or pan-friend for an addictive treat.
Maryland’s own fish peppers are our pride and joy. Baywater Farms, as part of our efforts to return historical crops to our Maryland land, tracked down seeds to fish peppers. Fish peppers were used to season seafood dishes throughout the eastern shore, but gradually went almost extinct. We have revived the fish pepper and know that you’ll love the spicy taste of this pepper’s comeback.
Baywater Farms grows our eggplant in gorgeous artisanal shades including white, traditional deep purple, and graffiti. Eggplant is typically available throughout the summer and early fall. All of our eggplant colors are ideal for cooking and become melty, rich, and fruity when carefully prepared.
Our red round tomatoes are a true show-stopper, and ours have the glossy red outside and tender inside our customers expect. Red round tomatoes can be used in any cuisine you could imagine and look great on any spring or summer plate.
Heirloom summer squash is available in countless variations and colors, from deep green, to yellow, to white, to combinations of all three. Our heirloom summer squash harnesses the sweet taste of summer and comes in all shapes, colors, and sizes.
Juicy fresh watermelon is a summer favorite, and at Baywater Farms we grow the best watermelon on the Eastern Shore. Our watermelons soak up the sun during a long growing season and soak up the attention of our careful farmers for a deliciously healthy final product.
